Looking to brush up your navigation skills? This is for you. Earlier this season Peak Region offered a very successful Intro day, and people went off to start their QMDs. Now the same team of leaders for the day, Stephen Jones and Gordon Riley, both experienced MLs and outdoor instructors, are offering you the chance to practise your nav at the next level. We'll be going up onto the Kinder Plateau, with macro-nav as we go up, merging into the most micro of micro-nav on the top. And we'll be sharing our experiences and insights, and listening to yours.
This is a peer-led event, so you are responsible for your own safety and well-being. Bring any meds you need, and your own first aid stuff; appropriate clothing and waterproofs for a full hill day; food and water; Dark Peak 1:25k map, and a base-plate compass.
If you are unable to come, PLEASE let us know, so that your place can go to someone else. Places are limited, so that we have no more than a 1:3 ratio, so every place is valuable.
We start at 10am at the official start-point of the Pennine Way, the Old Nag's Head in Edale village, which will provide a very handy pint-and-debrief venue for those who can stay to talk when we come down from the hill. Projected finish time 6pm.
