Award Description
The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.
The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. It is ideal for people who work within schools and youth groups, and those who are involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
This Lowland Leader Course is a 16-hour practical assessment of your pre-existing knowledge and skill. Unless exempt due to having attended a Hill and Moorland or Mountain Leader Training Course you must have attended a Lowland Leader Training Course to participate.

I am a provider of Mountain Training Lowland Leader Courses and Assessments. I offer the Camping Leader and outward bound first aid courses which comply with the Health and Safety Executive regulations.
Location and Travel
This assessment takes place at Bradfield Park Campsite in Bradford Combust Suffolk. The venue has free parking and is situated on the A134 between Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds. The nearest railway station is Bury St Edmunds which has regular services from Cambridge, Norwich, Ipswich and Colchester.

Residential
I am able to offer a residential booking at this venue. You will be camping and require your own tent and camping equipment. You will have use of the hall and kitchen area throughout the stay. There are showers and toilet’s available on site. The Manger Public House which serves great food is only a few minutes’ walk away if you require an evening meal.
Personally
I am an experienced outdoor practitioner with over 20 year’s experience in providing training and development in various outdoor pursuits. I believe in enabling instructors to promote the outdoors to the next generation. I care about providing training and assessment opportunities which are of a practical nature, where learning and development of knowledge and skills are at the core of every course I deliver. Everyone is an individual and is involved in their own journey as an outdoor instructor - I recognise this and tailor my courses to ensure I am able to support you on this learning pathway.
