WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Online training workshop run by a UK dual-qualified doctor and senior occupational therapist (also working as qualified summer mountain leader)
- Understand different physical health conditions in more detail (e.g. Parkinsons disease, arthritis, limb weakness/injury, chronic pain) and their application/potential adaptations for the outdoors, especially when aiming to optimise participation
- Consider practical tips, suggestions, language and tools when working specifically with a certain group/condition/impairment
- Be more inclusive with your offerings as an outdoor provider/professional
- Consider wider opportunities e.g. green social prescribing and mental health
- Optional Q&A time at the end (approx 15-20 mins) specific questions of a health care professional to address knowledge gaps in your own professional practice *Please note nothing in the session/Q&A will constitute formal clinical medical or personal rehabilitation advice for individuals attending the workshops
