Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.

We regularly run Mountain Leader Training courses both in a standard six day format, and also as a split course over two, three day blocks. For a Split Course the first three days are in the Peak District and the second three days in Snowdonia. We can run the Mountain Leader Training as a bespoke course or at other venues if desired.
