I've been hillwalking for over 40 years since I first moved to Edinburgh from Northern Ireland. I've tried to include a representative sample of my summer walks over this time, concentrating mainly on more recent years, and including all of the most recent since completing my ML Training. I'm conscious the locations are very skewed towards Scotland: I got feedback after my Training last year to get a few more from England, Wales, and Ireland and tried to do that within the constraints of time available!
I completed the Munros in 2005: many of these were in Winter so don't appear in this category. Since then I have done a few Corbetts but was drawn more towards scrambling and easy mountaineering routes - taking a "Learn to Lead" rock climbing course at Glenmore Lodge in 2006. These more "sporting" routes and days have probably been my main passion since then but are also obviously not shown here.
Registering with MTA for the Summer ML Award has given me a new lease of life for walking generally and I've already got a lot out of learning how to lead, inspire, and inform others!
