AREA
Isle Of Skye
DESCRIPTION OF ROUTE:
Black Cullin Ridge Traverse, South to North
We arrived outside the campsite just before midnight and got a few hours sleep in before leaving the car at 3:30am. The weather was looking good and with a day off work headed over to skye, ill be honest we didn’t really do much planning just had the will to complete it. I lost track of timings throughout the day but arrived back the other car at 18:30 Total 15hrs. Once we had reached the final summit we took a leisurely route back down and stopped off at the river to take the day in. This has to one of the best mountaineering days to date. The mountains are incredible and during the morning had an awesome cloud inversion which made the landscape even better. It was also one of the hardest days. We cruised along at a good pace and passed many other teams who where completing the ridge in a couple of days, we soloed the route and used the ropes for a couple of abseils but down climbed a lot.
It was an incredible day and cant wait to get back on the ridge, as I know we missed the TD gap and Tooth due to route finding
