From park entrance easy walk up to Altzomoni Hut (3,950m). 3am start for the summit. no need for head torches as full moon lit the way. Easy walking on well defined path to slight scramble up to summit caldera at 5130m. very little snow on summit. Great views across to Popocateptl which was pushing out a steady stream of ash. Return the same way.
