Description

10 hr 24 mins. 40km. Lead with my dad.
Did Yorkshire 3 Peaks with mountain club. 8 of us including me, mum and dad. Age range from 30 (me) to 74 (Dave).
Lots of rain throughout the day, the heaviest on Whernside. Whernside probably the most interesting summit. Pen Y Ghent destroyed my soul with the man made paths and snake trails of people. There had been lots of charity challenges which had cancelled the night before and some of the participants had continued. Due to trying to complete with jeans/tshirt with no kit on a day that was warm, with a cold wind and very wet, they mostly dropped out at Whernside so Ingleborough was pretty quiet, although Ingleborough shrouded in mist.

Area : South Yorkshire Dales

Most of the larger southern dales (e.g. Ribblesdale, Malhamdale and Airedale, Wharfedale and Nidderdale) run roughly parallel from north to south. Includes the Three Peaks, Malham and Langstrothdale/Wharfdale.
