A four day trek starting at La Soumiere near Seix in the Ariege. First night at a Gite d`etape in Aunac. Next day a steady climb up to the Col de la Core. After lunch at the col the route essentiall contours around the hill south to the Alpage at Subera. Camp by the shepherds cabin. Next day start with steepening climb to crags above Subera and onwards past Halifax bomber wreckage to the narrow Col de Craberous. The weather was poor at this point with wind and light rain. Steep drop down sketchy slopes to lunch at Cabine de Espuges (unmanned). after lunch a further descent to small lake before steep climb over granite blocks to easier ground and a further steady climb up slabs to the Col de Pecouch (2462m). a short descent in difficult conditions (poor vis and rain) to the hut Refuge des Estagnous.
Next morning descent to Estang Rond then steep climb up the "via ferratta", a short pitch protected by cables which most folk find exceiting and easy but some folk need managing. Afer the excitement is over, the climb continues over a snowfield to the col between France and Spain. From here it is a long descent to Borda Perosa and the finish.
