Description

La Petit Croisse Baulet from Le Plan. Following on from the previous days storm the weather was brilliant. However, avalanche risk was 3 above 1800m and natural avalanches would occur on south facing slopes.
This route followed a broad ridge initially up steepish slopes through forest so less snow cover at that point. Once out of the forest I followed a line on the broad back of the ridge, avoiding times the tracks dropped down onto the southern slopes as obvious point releases were visible on the neighbouring Croisse Baulet. This route necessitated a bit bush whacking but the snow fall from the branches was very refreshing!. Views from the summit were staggering over the Arve valley and across to Mt. Blanc.
Return was via the same route to avoid any issues with snow pack instability.
