One of those early autumn days of sunshine and a light breeze. Bit of a convoluted route to combine Pike O`Stickle and Harrison Stickle, before heading out to Rosette Pike, but it worked really well. Also did some gundog training with Sapphire. Five new Wainwrights for Nicky who did really well on her first decent walk for quite a long while. We also included a scramble up Thorn Crag on the way up.
Area :
Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)
The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
