Sunny and hot. Waddington & Cumberland families – 8 people. Les Étages, Vallon des Étages to 2000m and back on other side of river. A trip for Sid to see the Aiguille Dibona without slogging up to the hut and back. Also I didn’t fancy climbing it when Tim was not fit. The valley was wonderful, we had it to ourselves. Had fun damming the river so we could cross, but the rate of melt had us beat so we had to change it to piers to leap between. Again the chilled white went down very nicely.
