MYNYDD MAWR
Group members: Equals - Matthew and I
Wind speed: 30mph
Visibility: The cloud had settled very low which made navigation challenging.
Equipment used: Ice axe and crampons were essential
Weather: A little bit of snow fell around midday and the cloud never rose above 300m.
Temperature - -1 but felt like -5 in the wind.
Notes:
starting at Llyn Cwellyn water catchment we used the water catchment as a hand rain to the stream bordering the Beddgelert Forest, going up the valley still using the stream as a hand rail and then traversing to the summit of Mynydd Mawr then using the ridge down towards a path and headed back towards the town using the Mynydd Y Cilgwyn as a feature to help navigate.
