Snowdon Massif
DESCRIPTION OF ROUTE
Paddy Buckley Round Expedition Day 3
I left the youth hostel for 8 and walked down the A4058 towards beddgelert. I left the road near a farm on the west ridge of Craig Wen. I crossed wet ground using the boundary walls to reach the summit. From here I walked over the Yr Aran and then continued across to Snowdon via the southwest ridge. The wind was fierce in the morning making walking extremely difficult on exposed ground. When I reach the summit the wind had eased of and the cloud had cleared. I visited the summit of Crib-Y-Ddysgl before heading for the Snowdon ranger path and following this down before heading off for the Moel Eilios Ridge. This was Fantastic; I had left the crowds of Snowdon behind and had the entire ridge to my self, green grass and sunshine. I reached the summit of Moel Eilios in the golden autumn sunshine. I left the summit and walked down the south east ridge towards Llanberis and arrived at the youth hostel at !9:30.
