DESCRIPTION OF ROUTE
2 Day Mission in the Lakes
My van was parked in elterwater, My brother kindly gave me a lift down the road into langdale and dropped me off at the end of the road opposite the Old dungeon ghyll Pub. I headed up the road and turned off and made my way across the fell to the summit of Pike of Blisco. From there I made my way to esk pike via Great Knott, Shelter Crags and Bowfell. This was a lovely morning hike across the summits by the time I reached the main highways for scafell pike it was 13:30. I took the direct line up to the great end then headed south for scafell pike. As I made my way across the platue the wind was strong and it had started to rain. It was the hottest day I had ever been out in the hills and it only lasted for 10-15 minutes the rain was sideways and quickly got a soaking. By the time I reached the summit of scarfell pike I was dry. It was 3pm when I reached the summit and was fairly quiet. The vistas where amazing and could clearly see all the peaks in the park. From here I decided to carry on to sca fell and opted to avoid lords rake after hearing the latest news and instead dropped down and scrambled up the east side of sca fell. I walked off west down the rolling grass slopes soaking in the afternoon sunshine and headed for wastewater. I joined the road and then headed up to the summit of Yewbarrow for a summit camp. When I reached the summit the sun had set and after an exhausting day was straight into my sleeping bag.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
