Description

A walk joining various tors along Dewent edge, starting near Highshaw clough, going to Lost lad then descending to the derwent reservoir across Little Howden moor. I was involved in planning nd leading this walk for the UEA Fell & Mountain club. The group request had been for a walk away from the well-visited terratory around the vale of Edale and for something which had good interest, dispite a day of poor visibility.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
