Description

Coire na Ciste car park across above Coire laogh Mor and up too spot 1028 with the aim being to then get a days climbing in. However drifting slow and windslab meant the gulley descent on the eastern aspect was not suitable for a descent. Absailed down to check conditions but decided against it, did some rope work at the top and the walked back out to allow everyone to get away for the drive south. Club meet

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
