
Group on winter concentration moved across to the Cairngorms, struggling to find winter conditions to benefit the group in preparation for WML. Parked Coirena Ciste car park and the did micro nav in poor conditions/ visibility towards a Nap Coire na Spreidhe before descending back down the gulley to the car park Gulley was still full of driven snow which meant a descent through winter conditions.
Focus of the day was navigation, accuracy and aspect of slope along with emergency procedures

The Cairngorms
The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
