A super early start as Gareth wanted to be on top of Crinkle crags to catch the sunrise ( I was not impressed) Steve was actually up from 4am and decided to get us all up at 4.30am. It was good practice walking in the dark especially around crinkle although there was practically a full moon so there was a lot of light. we made a steady descent back to the car. 6 days on the hill and 5 nights camping really took it out of me.
Area :
Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)
The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
