Description

Bike/Walk 9.6k, 515m + Walk 9km, 865m + Bike 9.6km, 170m. Glen Dochart, Southern Highlands
Bridge over River Dochard GR505285 (08.30), Auchlyne, track to dam GR451306 (10.30), Meall Glas (12.20), Being Cheathaich (12.45), Lairig a`Churain (13.30), Meall a`Churain (14.25), Sgiath Chuil (14.35), dam(15.30 ish), (Van 16.10).
Weather fairly brutal, strong winds making progress difficult on the tops, glad to have the poles with me. Generally wet all day with cloud base around 800m. Felt I was making hard work of Meall Glas, eventually raised that I was trying to go too fast. Once I`d eased off felt much better. Apart from the summit ridges, a lot of rough terrain to cross.

Area : Glen Lyon to Glen Dochart & Loch Tay (Ben Lawers)

This area covers the peaks to the north and east of Crianlarich. Glen Lyon forms the northern boundary while the road from Crianlarich to Aberfeldy is the southern boundary. The Ben Lawers group in the east of this area includes seven separate peaks, all Munros, which are part of an impressive 12km ridge line. The western side of this area is generally lower and not as steep but does still home some a number of Munros. All major peaks above 600m are included in the mountains list. The area to the north is Loch Rannoch to Glen Lyon.
