Description

Bike 6.4km, 160m + Walk 17km, 1440m, Bike 6.4km. Glen Lochay, Southern Highlands.
Car park at head of glen GR476368 (07.50), got to Batavaime shearing shed (08.35) and had a break, walked up to the dam (09.20) and worked my way over rough terrain breaking onto the ridge at 10.35, on to Sròn nan Eun, interesting survey point above Bealach Slaidearan, and up to Creag Mhor (11.35), Bit of fun in the mist over lumpy ground to Stop nan Clach (12.10), back towards Creag Mhòr before contouring round and descending the it`s north slopes to Lochan na Baintighearrna (13.30), up the long ridge to Sròn Tairbh and the continuation to Stop an Fhir-Bhogha, ridge to Beinn Sheasgarnaich (15.00), terrace the steps and rough ground to All
Bad a` Mhaim and the dam again, and the track back to the shed (17.10) and the cycle back to the van (17.50)
Weather generally wet with heavier bursts, broken cloud base around 850m. Had enough of rough walking. Climbed over the new deer fence on the way down, but managed to find a gate on the way up. The tree planting isn`t working, too much browsing by sheep and deer within the fence!

Area : Glen Lyon to Glen Dochart & Loch Tay (Ben Lawers)

This area covers the peaks to the north and east of Crianlarich. Glen Lyon forms the northern boundary while the road from Crianlarich to Aberfeldy is the southern boundary. The Ben Lawers group in the east of this area includes seven separate peaks, all Munros, which are part of an impressive 12km ridge line. The western side of this area is generally lower and not as steep but does still home some a number of Munros. All major peaks above 600m are included in the mountains list. The area to the north is Loch Rannoch to Glen Lyon.
