Description

My 49th and 50th munros. Windy, snowing, and total white out on the summit of Ben Dorain, couldnt see the edges and needeed to scout about for a bit to confirm we were indeed on the right summit cairn. Crampons needed before the bealach between the two peaks even though the snow was deep and soft there was lots of ice in places especially nearer the top.
The second summit we had a view as the cloud blew through a bit and the day brightened up for a good while. The snow was deep and soft coming rom the summit to the bealach and we were able to run downhill pretty quickly all falling occasionally in the thigh deep snow. Dropping from the bealach back towards the bridge of orchy three of us used our storm shelter for the best toboggan ride down a snowy hill ever, There is video footage ha ha!

Area : Bridge Of Orchy (Beinn A'chreachain) To Schiehallion

The mountains immediately to the south of Loch Rannoch and to the north of Glen Lyon stretch all the way from Schiehallion (1083m), the birthplace of Charles Hutton’s contour lines, to Beinn Dorain (1076m) near the Bridge of Orchy. There are twelve Munros and a number of other peaks (above 800m) in the mountains list. The peaks to the south of Glen Lyon are included in the Glen Lyon to Glen Dochart & Loch Tay area.
