Today`s target was to reach the Munro carn sgulain, Having missed it from a previous walk in the area. Parked at strone and followed a route seen on walk highlands, followed a track until it finished. The ground was iced, turf not frozen, and a few inches of soft snow covering the Heather, which made for hard going once the track finished. We reached the top of geal charn, 766, dropping height and regaining over to am Bodach 794. The weather started to come in quite horrid at this point, and with one party member struggling, estimated time to the peak was still over an hour at the pace we were moving, so the decision was made to return the way we came. Tough going through some deep drifts over wet bog.
5 hours, slow member of party would have seen this route much quicker without them. ( I can be a little critical as was my teenage daughter throwing her toys out! )
