Description

Snow to glen level, from Aberader we headed north to na Cnapnan where we loosely followed the southern ridge through breakable crust and deep drifts to Carn Liath. From Carn liath we followed west around the horseshoe with deteriorating weather conditions to Stob poite coure ardair. We descended carfully through the notch, by giving the laden steep slopes a wide berth, and made our way across the plateau to puist coire ardair, then east along to Sron A Choire. Rain at summit height by this point and we descend the burn line due east from the summit in the dark and the rain. Yuk!

Area : Creag Meagaidh Loch Lochy To Loch Laggan)

This area includes the famous Creag Meagaidh Range and surrounding peaks of at least 600m. It stretches east of the A82 between Spean Bridge and Invergarry, and north of the A86 as far east as Stob Coire Dubh. There are a large number of impressive winter climbs in Coire Ardair and endless navigation opportunities on and around the high central plateau of Creag Meagaidh itself. The mountains to the north and east of this range are under East Highlands, Monaliadth Mountains.
