Starting from the car park we started up the path, when we got to where the old and new path split we started up towards the crags on the east side of the hill. From there we put in a bit of a grade 1 climb up frozen turf and solid snow. Just above this we found a nice big patch of snow to go over bucket belays. We also went on to do the bucket belay backed up with a buried ice axe. From there it was a steep walk up to look at a cornice. Once over the top of this te wind had picked up significantly and we were right in the middle of it all out of the shelter of the east side of the hill. My first winter day were the weather was so horrific I couldn`t see more than 4 meters in front of me. Was really disorientating. Further on from the bucket seats we went over Boot belay`s, modified boot belay, stomper belay and finally the snow bollard. On the hill from 9am till 4pm with sunny skies to begin with to a white out. Great day had on the hill with lots of learning done.
