6.2km + 730m. Central Highlands.
Parked in Invervar (8.40), and followed the track alongside the Invervar Burn to the mini-hydro intake GR659494. I followed a faint path north past some cairns direct to Meall Luaidhe (10.25) and back down to the van (11.25).
I had planned on driving up from Cheshire and over to Braemar on Friday but the snow gates on the Glen She road were shut due to the `mini beast from the east`, and the detour round the coast would have meant a very long day and late night. Instead I decided to `tidy` up the deleted top, in the hope that the road would be open on Saturday. Slept overnight in the van just down the glen from Invervar. When I came down the snow gates were still shut so i then did the long detour to get to Braemar, filling up with fuel on the way.
Area :
Glen Lyon to Glen Dochart & Loch Tay (Ben Lawers)
This area covers the peaks to the north and east of Crianlarich. Glen Lyon forms the northern boundary while the road from Crianlarich to Aberfeldy is the southern boundary. The Ben Lawers group in the east of this area includes seven separate peaks, all Munros, which are part of an impressive 12km ridge line. The western side of this area is generally lower and not as steep but does still home some a number of Munros. All major peaks above 600m are included in the mountains list. The area to the north is Loch Rannoch to Glen Lyon.
