Description

Long day out recce`ing the OCT route. Pouring with rain at start. Poor vis. Looking for a good route from Langdale to Grassmere (ether doesn`t seem to be one) and then good progress up tongue ghyll to Grisedale hause. Took the BG route up onto Dollywaggon which is stiff but good progress. Snow on top. Found good route down to Thirlmere. Climb around steal fell stiff and boggy. Finish at Angle tarn and back down o Langdale. £8 parking! Half at stickle barn then drove home. V cold and wet.

Area : Central Fells

The Vale of Keswick, provides separation from the Northern Fells whilst to the west runs the long valley of Borrowdale. The parallel eastern boundary is created by Thirlmere and the St Johns in the Vale. Grasmere to Windermere forms the remainder of the eastern boundary. In the west, Stake Pass descends into Great Langdale.
