Description

Another trip with my girlfriend! Parked car by Ladybower reservoir (Sk196864) and headed uphill past Ashopton and Winstone Lee Tor. Followed path around edge of high ground past lots of rock formations (Hurkling Stones, Wheel Stones etc) up to Derwent Edge and kept heading North towards the trig point at Back Tor. Headed NE for another kilometre and then headed NW to drop into Bents Clough (SK201922. Pick up footpath alongside Abbey Brook and followed this down to join the main footpath along the shore of Derwent Reservoir and returned to the car. Good day with some excellent views!

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
