Weather
Majority of the day was Sunny and clear from 12-1pm onwards with strong winds on the higher areas. But in the morning persistent rain was present and much stronger winds even low down.
Party
Me plus one other who has not done much if any scrambling or multi-pitch climbing, so I was placed in a position of leadership guiding him to routes and on them.
Routes
The morning in the wet and wind I chose to introduce him into grade 3 roped scrambles on Tryfan Fach on the short grade 3. It let him get back to grips with rigging an anchor, placing gear and rock movement in general. Big boots were worn on the route.
Once the rain stopped we drove down to Idwal Cottage and went to do the North West Face route of Glyder Fawr (Idwal Buttress and Continuation). We chose to Solo the route and we chose the harder 2+ variation, with some route finding we managed to shoot out onto Seniors Ridge and up to the summit of Glyder Fawr. From here we walked around to descent back to the car via Y Gribin sticking to the ridge proper to get all the exposure.
