Description

5.3km + 900m. Glen Fyne, Arrochar Alps.
Easan Dhub Fall car park A83 (12.55), followed the ridge to the top (14.14) and back down to van (15.10).
This was a quick jaunt on the way home to Cheshire. Everyone else I met on the hill had turned back at the first of two snow fields. The first was steep but stable, the second I was going nowhere near it! Bypassed it by climbing up steep grass and rock to regain the path higher up. After that the snow was all fine, I just had to watch out for where frost heave was trying to send the path down.

Area : Loch Fyne to Loch Long (Beinn an Lochain)

South of the A83 as far as Dunoon and sandwiched in between Loch Fyne and Loch Long are a number of peaks, none of which qualify for Munro status. The southern half of the Arrochar Alps includes Beinn an Lochain, which at 901m was wrongly included in Sir Hugh Munro’s original list of 3000ft peaks in Scotland. The mountains list contains all peaks above 600m.
