Description

ALL 4000`s
9hrs 40mins
Completing all the 4000`s starting at the sugar bowl, through Chalamain gap traversing the entire Braeriach ridge to Devil`s point, then decent to Corour Bothy and up the shoulder towards Ben Macdui and across to cairngorm. Using the tourist path to descend back to the ski center an walked down to sugar bowl.
After we got to Ben Macdui heavy cloud covered the cairngorm and visibility was very difficult so navigation was required.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
