Description

Personal climbing up to 6a+ tonight - after a couple of warm ups and leads, I tried a 6a+ route on the pillar in the main room. My aim was to get to a certain hold, and after reaching this hold with relative ease, I continued on. I managed to get half way up the route but the holds became just too small and I couldn`t figure out the next move to get my left hand up to the next hold. This will be my personal work to achieve this route now before it gets reset.
Coaching - with Sophie, a nice 5a warm up which I climbed first and coached Sophie to completion (we also practised tying off the belay for Sophie). We then lead the same route with me watching Sophie closely. she did very well but at the top of the route I heard her trying to unscrew the screwgate before clipping into the snapgate. I left her to it as I couldn`t see this for sure, but when she came down I asked her about it and she agreed that she had tried to unscrew the screwgate first before clipping into the snapgate. She knew this was wrong so a good lesson learnt.
