Description

I set off late after work and arrived in the lakes at 10 o clock ish.
I was advised not to drive down as it was dark and icy roads. However, I was looking forward to more winter walking.
We'd started our adventure at the Olde Dungeon Ghill, I'd met up with Matt, Nic, Jess and Carl for a cheeky Wainwright.
Then we'd walked to the campsite, at the campsite we'd been upgraded to clamping pods for no extra cost than camping as we were the only people at the campsite.
In the hut I treated everyone to my home recipe of Nandos Chicken Tuna Pasta.
The next day was amazing conditions, snowy and icy and colder than I've ever experienced before.
Carlos Edwards had put on a display of snow angels in his boxers for the whole camp to see, we were joined by Toby and we set off for our winterskills practice up Pike O Blisco.
We were out practicing walking in crampons in the icyest I've ever experienced in this country and on such an impressive mountain.
Attempting ice axe arrests, climbing waterfall with technical axes ( which I'll discuss further) and winter walking in constant knee high Snow throughout the day.
I enjoyed this very much and hope for similar conditions next year.
