Description

10.15 - 16.20. Bike 3.2km + 170m, 15km + 750m, bike 4.3km + 85m.
Inverey car park (10.15), cycled in to Auchlie where I started pushing the bike up hill in the hope I'd be able to cycle along the top. Ditched the bike at GR079857 (11.45) when I realised I definitely wasn't going to cycle into the wind and with the gusts it was gong to be interesting cycling out. Got to Carn Bhac (13.30) and trundled on to the south West Top (13.50) and the deleted top of Carn a'Bhutha (14.10). It was then a case of retracing my steps, picking up the bike, and got back to the van at 16.20.
I had planned on doing a bothy trip from the Linn of Dee to Glenfeshie including a few mountains on the way, but the 50+mph winds meant that that wasn't really a good idea so I decided to tidy up a few other Munros instead.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
