Day with Soph spent walking up Moel Siabod via the lakes and the Daer Ddu ridge.
We actually ended up taking a path to the left of the scramble ridge as Soph was nervous of the route, and this footpath offered some basic scrambling skills need to reach the top.
The weather was nice, although chilly and cold on top (-1 C at the summit), and we took our time so I could refresh some of my ML skills.
On the way back to the car after visiting Plas Y Brenin, in the woods on a steep slope I practised ropework, tying Soph in for confidence roping, and also practised the different techniques of abseiling on a rope.
All good fun and very enjoyable for us both.

Moelwynion
The Moelwynion (a Welsh plural, sometimes anglicised to Moelwyns) are a group of mountains in central Snowdonia. They extend from the north-east of Porthmadog to Moel Siabod, the highest of the group. The name derives from the names of the two largest mountains in the group, Moelwyn Mawr (great white hill) and Moelwyn Bach (little white hill).
