Description

another good day in the area.
Parked just near Galli-lago mountain lodge, and walked into the hills following the footpath.
We then navigated away from the path to find the cave on the SW base of Cnicht, having lunch there.
Some micro-nav around the rocky outcrops which was good fun and some time spent identifying plants / lichen / mushrooms and talking about the old settlements in the area.
Lovely day, overcast at times and chilly, but clear with a moderate, gusting wind.

Area : Moelwynion

The Moelwynion (a Welsh plural, sometimes anglicised to Moelwyns) are a group of mountains in central Snowdonia. They extend from the north-east of Porthmadog to Moel Siabod, the highest of the group. The name derives from the names of the two largest mountains in the group, Moelwyn Mawr (great white hill) and Moelwyn Bach (little white hill).
