Description

40. Bastow Ridge Grade II, Tryfan. Snow under foot, thinning (rocks partly covered). Steve Eccleson leading, Craig and I seconding. Pretty uneventful really: finding the heather terrace, then up Bastow Gully, then step up and right onto the ridge. Follow to the top, then continue along the North Ridge of Tryfan (Crampons not required). Descend via Cwm Tryfan on the south side of Tryfan itself.

Area : Glyderau

The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
