Description

4. Kinder Scout. Conditions: thick fog, wet, dark. Interesting route finding exercise, managed ok! Summits: Kinder Low, Kinder Scout.
From Edale, west up Jacob’s Ladder, joined Pennine Way north, then cut across from Kinder downfall to the “summit” and down Crowden Brook. No path as such to follow over the tops… just 10ft deep peat bogs!

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
