Accompanied by my dog I had a very easy walk which began at the Patterdale Hotel car park, I headed West from here, behind the hotel and over the fields to Home Farm. I headed SW along the minor road towards Thornhow, but turned right over the bridge and up the hill by the kennels. At the top of this short, steep bank I went through the gate (closing it after someone had left it open), then took the lower of the two footpaths up the Grisedale Valley, through Broomhill Plantation and crossing a footbridge over Nethermostcove Beck. Here I turned left sharply and headed South East , over Grisedale Beck to the track overlooked by St Sunday Crag. From here it was a very easy walk along a wide track NE to Elmhow, Thornhow and back to Home Farm, where I retraced my steps back to the hotel.
