Assessment day for Dartmoor search and rescue. Involved being shouted at by a short, funny looking man with a silly hat telling me to find various points around the Venford Reservoir area. I had to find these points before and after dark, for some of these points I was allowed to use map and compass, for others, just a map. A very challenging day and some very useful points learned especially with navigation. Did not make the team as older, more experienced candidates were favoured.
