Starting at the ciste car park, up coire na ciste up towards Cnap Coire na Spreidhe then to Cairn gorm.
Decending down towards Loch Avon using Ciste Mhearad. Heavy snow had fallen, so being particularly weary on snow conditions and where the snow build up was, resisting any avalanche prone areas.
Up towards A Chinneach then to Bynack more, down towards Ryvoan bothy an back using the tourist track to Glenmore Lodge.
Partner: Matthew Glenn
Conditions: Fairly windy however cold conditions gave us good snow. However staying clear of west facing slopes due to a smaller chance of avalanche.
Area :
The Cairngorms
The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
