A day teaching navigation skills to a client who wants to start heading towards their mountain leader. I used Binsey as an example of how much can be seen with contours given it is a very non plus hill which looks to have no distinguishing features. The client, Martin, was very dubious about meeting here, however had a very different outlook after the day with me. We also covered some ML abseiling and confidence roping. Dry sunny day, brisk cold northerly winds.

Essentially this area is encompassed by Lakes of Bassenthwaite, Derwent Water, Buttermere and Crummock Water with the southern boundary being the Honister Pass
