
A wild day where everything that was snowy was melting. Rivers high, paths very wet. Off path likely to be very boggy.
Wind forcast 30-40mph winds, increasing.
Rain all day with poor visibility in cloud.
Group all members of Gwydyr Mountain Club. 11 in total. 7 Experienced summer and winter walkers.
2 some mountain experience. 4 newbies. Originally planned for the 9 but 4 newbies tagged along.
Advised kit, some newbies not interested and adament they had enough kit, without a bag. Discussed options to return at head of valley or at coll or at summit, depending on wind/rain.
Just before col 4 newbies returned back down path as clothing inadequete. 7 carried on to summit. Sleet and high windy. Wind 30-40 mph, gusting 50.5mph (wind guage carried) Returned via wall back to Nant Gwynant.

Snowdon (Welsh: Yr Wyddfa) is the highest mountain in Wales, at an altitude of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles outside Scotland. It is located in Snowdonia National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri) in Gwynedd, and has been described as "the busiest mountain in Britain". It is designated as a national nature reserve for its rare flora and fauna.
