Description

David and I left the cars in Llanberis and got the bus up to pen y pass carpark.
Once at pyp carpark we set off on the path for crib goch. Not long into the trek we needed to don crampons and use axes.
Walking up the pinnacles in non trodden fresh snow we had to be avalanche aware and avoid standing on loose area of snow.
Due to slippery ice we always tried to keep to the side of the lesser slope.
At times I had to avoid using ice axe to use arms to balance or hands to hold whilst scrambling.
Very winter conditions using skills learned on the bmc winter awareness course.

Area : Snowdon Massif
