Tom and I set off for an epic non-working snow day, on a school day may I add.
We walked through very deep snow and decided to put on the crampons and whip out the axes very early on.
The weather made it very exhausting to even manoeuvre in the mountains.
It was very useful to be avalanche aware in these conditions as just the exact same morning there was an avalanche on Snowdon in similar conditions.
We had taken this information and chose to avoid standing near the steeper edge.
Use of Nav, Pacing, timing and walking on a bearing.
