Description

Wildcamp as planned a few weeks ago. Walk up to camping area in the afternoon. Overnight camp. Weather conditions had changed for clear and sunny the previous day to snow and very windy in the morning. Walk out navigating over 2 Corbetts in the morning. Weather improved and it was sunny when we got back to the car.
During the night I was quite cold, it was approx. -2. I need to look into ways of staying warmer overnight. I was with my friend who was less experienced walking.
Seen geeze, pheasants, grouse and hares.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
