Description

Due to lack of time and other commitments I couldn't commit to a proper QMD. Instead I decided to go out for a hillfit session, leaving late afternoon so when I returned it was dark which was a good opportunity to get more comfortable in the dark. Due to the full moon visibility was good. Part of the walk up to Clachnaben is forest area and part is bare and exposed. There is a working sheep farm so you have to be mind full of the animals. Furthermore there was a lot of wildlife out when it become dark, deer and pheasants.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
