Description

A long off-piste route nominally named "the trig points of Kinder" in dismal weather. Ascent via the ridgeline from The Nab, crossing the moor to Blackden edge then Seal edge. Across the moor again to Kinder Downfall, a very soggy trek to Crowden Head, retreating back via Kinder low as the volume of water in the peat gullies reached a constistetly tiresome level. A perversly enjoyable day of heavy rain, fairly windy and little visability with an elective post sundown decent.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
