Description

Morocco day 3
As soon as we descended on day 2 I offered to go back up with Kirk on day 3 to allow him to summit and after discussing it with Alan, Who still did not feel well enough to summit, Dave F and Craig offered to come with us, missing out on a second peak. It was also decided to give Tom another chance at ascending so we walked with him between Craig and I and had plans in place for one of us to descend early with him if he struggled to cope again.
The snow conditions had changed and was now very hard underfoot and required more care while moving.
We made good time but the higher we got the more ill Dave and I felt. At 4000m we were done in but made it to the top with the others, although I didn`t make the obligatory photo. Craig on the other hand felt great all day and was much stronger for the second ascent.
As we descended Dave and I started to feel better suggesting Altitude and the ascent yesterday had a lot to do with how we felt.On talking to other groups we suspected that it was common for the local guides to push for the summit day without utilising the training day. Something to watch for in the future
Probably one of the hardest physical and mental tests I`ve endured, including P coy.
