Setting off from Uzzicar I walked South along a track skirting beneath Barrow before crossing Stonycroft Gill at an old reservoir then heading up Sleet Hause and then onto Causey Pike, which involved a short scramble over small crags to reach the summit. From here it was an easy walk over cotton-grass filled moorland to the awful man-made path onto Sail. Some short scrambly bits were encountered on the final push to Crag Hill but nothing too technical. It was nice to see since my last visit someone has rebuilt the summit trig point which had been laying on its side before. The wind was quite strong and cold here with low cloud pushing in from the West so I navigated across country to the NW to join the footpath which was sheltered by the beck at Coledale Hause where I had lunch. I continued East from here past disused dams near Force Crag mine and then left the main track to skirt the northern edge of Outerside. I continued East below Stile End and joined a grassy track which crossed Barrow Gill to join a bridleway at Braithwaite Lodge, where I headed South back to Uzzicar.
